The Details:
- This is a contracted essay editing role where the hours may vary. We are in our busiest season and are hiring for part-time opportunities.
- Pay is $20 per hour.
- Hours will vary and will be based on the volume of essays we are receiving; however, we expect a minimum availability of 20 hours per week through until February of 2026.
- The hours will include evenings and weekends.
- This role is designed for flexibility. You could do this role in addition to your full-time role or on a schedule that works for you.
- The role is remote and you can be based anywhere in Canada.
- We are also interested in hiring students that are currently pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD that either have prior experience in editing or have a degree in English/Communications.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Responsibilities:
- You will be reviewing and editing university and scholarship applications for students by providing suggested edits to support the student's application.
- Example editing includes resumes, cover letters, scholarship essays, and post-secondary school applications.
- Understand the ins and outs of university and college-level essays and business writing.
- Meet strict deadlines for essay revisions.
- Provide consistent editing and feedback for students that also meets our internal KPIs.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from a Canadian university (preferably in English, Communications, or a writing-related major).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A degree in English, Communications, or a Writing-Related Major.
- A current Master's or PhD student is ideal.
- Experience with application or essay editing in a prior role is a bonus.
