We are looking for a knowledgeable biology tutor to help students in Grades 8 to 12 build real understanding of living systems, not just memorize them.
The details
- Contract role: part-time tutoring position.
- Pay: $20 to $23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Hours: after-school hours, mainly weekday evenings and weekends.
- Location: remote (Canada-based applicants only; must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
- This role is designed for flexibility. Many of our tutors balance it with other professional or academic commitments.
Responsibilities
- Tutor biology 1:1 over video, across cell biology, genetics, human physiology, evolution, and ecology
- Turn dense terminology into models students can actually reason with, rather than flashcard recall
- Coach lab report writing, experimental design, and interpreting data and diagrams
- Prepare students for unit tests, provincial assessments, and final exams
- Track progress and give constructive feedback to students and parents
- Follow AdmissionPrep's tutoring methodology and training standards
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, or Education. Current Master's or PhD students are encouraged to apply.
- Teaching or tutoring experience with Grades 8 to 12 students, online or in person
- Strong command of the Canadian high school biology curriculum
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and passionate about student success
