We are looking for a knowledgeable chemistry tutor to help students in Grades 8 to 12 work confidently across both the conceptual and the mathematical side of the subject.
The details
- Contract role: part-time tutoring position.
- Pay: $20 to $23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Hours: after-school hours, mainly weekday evenings and weekends.
- Location: remote (Canada-based applicants only; must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
- This role is designed for flexibility. Many of our tutors balance it with other professional or academic commitments.
Responsibilities
- Tutor chemistry 1:1 over video, across atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, gases, solutions, equilibrium, and organic chemistry
- Build fluency with the calculation-heavy topics where most students lose marks, especially mole conversions and limiting reagents
- Connect symbolic equations to what is physically happening, so students stop pattern-matching and start reasoning
- Support lab calculations, significant figures, and formal lab write-ups
- Track progress and give constructive feedback to students and parents
- Follow AdmissionPrep's tutoring methodology and training standards
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Education. Current Master's or PhD students are encouraged to apply.
- Teaching or tutoring experience with Grades 8 to 12 students, online or in person
- Strong command of the Canadian high school chemistry curriculum
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
