We are looking for a knowledgeable physics tutor to help students in Grades 8 to 12 develop genuine problem-solving skill rather than formula-hunting.
The details
- Contract role: part-time tutoring position.
- Pay: $20 to $23 per hour, depending on experience.
- Hours: after-school hours, mainly weekday evenings and weekends.
- Location: remote (Canada-based applicants only; must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
- This role is designed for flexibility. Many of our tutors balance it with other professional or academic commitments.
Responsibilities
- Tutor physics 1:1 over video, across kinematics, forces and Newton's laws, energy and momentum, waves, electricity, and magnetism
- Teach a repeatable problem-solving approach: diagram the situation, identify the physics, then reach for the equation
- Strengthen the underlying math, including vectors, trigonometry, and algebraic rearrangement
- Prepare students for unit tests, provincial assessments, and final exams
- Track progress and give constructive feedback to students and parents
- Follow AdmissionPrep's tutoring methodology and training standards
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Education. Current Master's or PhD students are encouraged to apply.
- Teaching or tutoring experience with Grades 8 to 12 students, online or in person
- Strong command of the Canadian high school physics curriculum
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
